From today, i start to side with Russia and China, as in the USA, the state sets your bank account balance to -0.25 billion usd if you say something ,,wrong''.

Are you saying that Russia and China are kinder to political dissidents than USA? I think it is generally accepted that especially China has a far worse track record in this regard.

I know China is just as bad as USA when its about human rights, however they only rarely try to influence the politics here, and supply far more products. Its the lesser evil.
replied 598d
"just as bad" is wrong, they are MUCH worse. A Chinese Alex Jones would have been in a concentration camp for at least a decade by now. If he was lucky. They are NOT "the lesser evil".

Also, they do try to influence politics in the west all the time. For example, I just stumbled over this:
(I only watched like 2 minutes)
replied 598d
In this particular aspect of human rights, they are worse. In other aspects of human rights, they are mostly better or equally bad. In overall, they are similarly bad.
replied 598d
OK, I do not think you have thought this through, or maybe you have no idea how bad China is in this regard. Even counting the worst things USA reportedly has done, there is no contest
replied 598d
USA murdered about half to one million people in the last 25 years. China killed only a few 1000. I dont want to do blood algebra, but its 3 magnitudes more.
replied 598d
You seem to be talking about US wars of aggression. Yes they do happen too often. However, the only reason China does not do that is they are kept in check by America.
replied 598d
If allowed, they would do the same, but in a way that was much more disregarding of human lives and human rights. This is what you can look forward to if supporting China.
replied 598d
I wouldnt say i would actively help them, but if would be forced to pick side, i would probably pick China. If they will also murder millions, then i wouldnt support them any more.
replied 598d
If China would attack Taiwan, i would support Taiwan tho.
replied 598d
I understand your stance, and it is true that China has not murdered millions in foreign wars so far. However, Mao killed lots of people, a quick google suggests ~60 million.
replied 598d
I also think it is quite clear that the arrogance that typically comes with totalitarian control is quite obvious in China, and that their disregard for life is almost absolute.
replied 598d
They also do cause a lot of deaths inside China right now. Most like to talk about Uyghurs in this regard, though many other groups are oppressed, like Falun Gong practitioners.
replied 598d
This persecution includes concentration camps, forced organ harvesting on an industrial scale, forced sterilization and so on.
replied 598d
So I suppose the question is, should we really wait for China to kill tens of millions in wars before we judge, or should we see the obvious signs for what they are now?
replied 597d
I am not sure if we can extrapolate it like that. We will see after a decade.
replied 597d
So after a decade with China in the driver seat, you are gonna make up your mind. I think you grossly underestimate the signs we already have, and underestimate the cost to "go back"
replied 597d
Even now we cannot stand up enough for freedom in our own countries to counter thinly veiled covid lies or woke pressure, both being used to give power of the people to state/elites

Russians,
as in: the general population,
can be charitable.
As opposed to what I witnessed in China.
On 6 continents I have met _many_ charitable people.
Except in China.
