qemu update broke compatibility with 90% of my virtual machines. armv5 hosts never work again after a certain versions. the incompetence of this gang is shining.

qemu on a server running ArmV5 ?
Just curious, I live on intel, except for my pine which lacks enough power to run VM's

The other way around. Server is x86-64, was running VMs various platforms including x86-64, x86, armv5, v7, v8 with various operating systems.

(So i guess i worded it in the wrong way)

Happy to stay on VirtualBox

I need non-x86 machines as well, so i used qemu as a generic solution.

that's fair

Were you able to revert?
replied 802d
No, update arrived with apt-get. I had to convert one of the virtual disks, i had to scrap another virtual machine fully, third one works but with like 90% degraded performance, etc

...one gets segfault when i open any window in it, another one got the sound glitching, so if a *ding* is being played the system freezes for a random time between 1 to 3 minutes

Yikes! Sounds terrible.
