Yes Bitcoin Cash has a wider network effect and better auditability! I also don't mind too much about which coin "wins", as long as it fulfills the original vision of Bitcoin (p2p $).

Monero is one of the best actually decentralized open monetary networks. The proof of stake assets are all permissioned networks and highly centralized. Mining IS a feature, not a bug.
