It is strange that "the left" doubled down on the identity of race instead of a common civic value identity, the far right has been trying to get "whites" to block up as a group foreve
r, and it has always been the left that has historically tried to calm down the flames of racial divide, at least old classical liberals. But recently the left actually managed to -
help create a climate where white people are for the first time (as I know of in recent history) voting as (more than before) a group, which should be a signal to the left to cool it.
Helped create that climate by insisting on making race the defining characteristic and collective interests of groups being legitimate, instead of the constitutional values and US soul
