Justin Bons has seriously been pumping ETH. His fund must be getting hit hard because ETH is his top holding. But there is no way ETH is better for payments than BCH.

The fees are much higher on ETH than BCH at times. Not to mention their chain size is ballooning while we've taken measures to reduce the impact on ours (Schnoor sigs)

Yep. He is so into the governance part, that he is forgetting about what works best The one that works the best is the most important thing.

I think it's also important to note that ETH is the chain that hundreds of tokens piggy back on as their main backbone. Can BCH do this better with SLP tokens?

ETH is incredible, and seems if they get ETH 2.0 actually working it could be huge. Then again I've been hearing about ETH switching to PoS for many years.

ETH is focused on Defi. and it remains to be seen if that will even work because they had major issues on the price collapse. BCH is already way ahead in the payments game.

Compound is great on Ethereum. In the price collapse Maker had a blowout it looked, but Compound stayed in there. Will see how it all develops.

I see ETH as more of an investment crypto. It might pay off, but it isn't for me. i used to hold 50% BCH,, 50% ETH.
replied 1454d
Indeed time will tell. But so far BCH is definitely made/being made for large scale payments.

One other thing is that ETH is uncapped and they have been adding 10% to their supply every year. That is essentially dilution.

replied 1454d
If the total supply started at 72 Million in 2015, and now it's 110 million. that's a hell of a lot more than 4.5%.
replied 1454d
I didn't realize it was that high. For some reason I thought it was more like 3-5% a year
replied 1454d
Vitalik said ETH wouldnt;t hit 100 million until the end of the century. LOL. https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/06/11/ethereums-total-supply/

Good find. Been a big change in plans in a few years then.
replied 1454d
If BCH doubled to 42 million, BTC chump camp would be all over that. But nobody says anything about ETH doing it. That 1400 it ran to, is now only 700. That's killer.
replied 1454d
DeFI on a mass scale and Ethereum 2.0 will come, give it time.
replied 1454d
What difference does it make what they do if you are getting diluted 10% a year?
replied 1453d
It is a weird question, even if Ethereum and DeFi are insanely useful, does that benefit you as an ETH holder?
replied 1453d
That's exactly it. That's why I say it's an investment crypto. You can have DeFi without actual investors to boost ETH price. Kind of boring, but it could pay off.
replied 1453d
Could argue that it's good since all of them need to purchase ETH for gas. But if the token isn't "money" and inflates at 10% a year, DeFi seems could be use and ETH not go up in price

This increasing regulatory environment really tossed a wrench into the creation of ICOs and drastically slowed the velocity of Ethereum.
replied 1454d
You’re not wrong. I’m waiting for a new project to arrive that wholly redefines our interpretation of economics; changing things for the better.
replied 1454d
That's a very good point, I hadn't thought too much of it that way.

The Ethereum community is our brother in arms.
