Well the transaction fees are cheaper than using Bitcoin Core, clearly that option is clunkier since the transaction times are slower also, yet people use it to buy things.
Not sure how that's relevant to the topic. Less and less people use BTC for spending and merchants/businesses have been dropping it for 2 years or started implementing other coins.
