I tried mining in early 2011 on a laptop - Intel Celeron -> not single block - pooled mining and the first GPU miners already on it...
Mine was a core 2 duo, had a Nvidia GPU as well and a massive 4 GB ram, 17 inch screen, was already a couple year old by then but was still my pride and joy :-)
Still have parts of it in a box in the garage ! My son wanted to take it apart after the heatsink didn't sink enough and it melted !!
