Often people get tax returns for having kids. In Canada I get money monthly for my three kids. It's about half of what I put away in income tax that I get back. That helps a lot.
Lol income tax isn't an amount that you have to work off. It increases as you work more, they're working to afford healthcare and inflated goods/services that are also taxed
