Modem means Modulator/Demodulator, so technically this is a wireless modem as it converts analog signals to digital signals for his computer to use. In fact, a cell phone contains a
| part on it's circuit board called the modem that does this for the phone. Since this isn't a phone, it's just the modem part, meant to interface with the computer as a phone would.
