Interesting. The article sounds more optimistic than the paper itself though.
Very early tech so who knows. Even if it's just a tiny amount of power I could see arrays of these replacing current mining equipment some day.
If that were true then PoW would become only negligibly different from PoS as no external resources would be consumed.
