bc I can't get banned if some furious horny troll wants me suspended bc I said i don't need his shrinking dick & 2 break his legs if he tries smth. NO IDEA why I like memo better!

Yes, these are also great advantages, but the competition is very strong. It's very difficult to compete against corporations.

Moment they find out that they HAVE to pay & that it's not free to pour million usually meaningless statuses daily like they used on other websites, they pronounced it "waste of time"
replied 2021d
Look at DuckDuckGo. Everyone called them stupid because they wanted to compete in search engine industry just with the idea of privacy. They are doing great!

People can now already post YouTube videos on memo or member and link to memo or member on YouTube. Why does that not happen?
replied 2020d
Because it's not convenient and community is small so payout doesn't worth it
replied 2020d
The community is small so payout doesn't worth it. The payout doesn't worth it so the community is small. It's a vicious circle

Not sure what's your goal in this conversation. No one said it's easy

I have been trying for a long time to find out why memo usage is stagnating. And I don't think it is because it is dominated by crypto people.
replied 2020d
I think it's because new users don't get enough attention. They post a few times. There is no little or no reaction from the users and they leave again. This happens all the time. I
replied 2020d
That's because crypto people don't care about anything else than topics of their choosing. That's why I'm saying communities should be separated.
replied 2020d
Even crypto enthusiasts will not stay if no one interacts with them.

Community involvement is the key. In busy.org we had hundreds of non technical users filling up issues in our github or communicate with devs in discord. It's not the case here
replied 2020d
Yeah, the memo/member community is not open enough. We only communicate with each other.
replied 2020d
True, there's a reason community building is a word. It just doesn't grow organically, requires funding and attention
replied 2020d
But also there's a problem of normal people being poor in BCH and not founded to give away tips to each others. Tokens can fix it but giving potential valuation to a system

have been observing it for a long time. I've been on Memo since the beginning.
replied 2020d
More users would be cool, don't forget we have some users not saying anything, they are just observing.
replied 2020d
Yeah, that might be true. But if they're not even "liking", I doubt they're even there.
replied 2020d
Maybe @memo can shine some light with sharing his GA stats

It will soon be overtaken by read.cash.

replied 2020d
ReadCash is for blogging and blogs are not decentralized, only wallets are. Those are completely different platforms. It's like comparing WordPress with Twitter.
replied 2020d
I know, but you can compare the user traffic on similarweb. If the traffic is growing it's OK.

I watch it here:

It does not look very good

Or even Brave, making a browser that is better than Chrome and Firefox. Web has so many features that making browsers is expensive even for Microsoft. But they did and people liked it
